RAIN

Mother Hats should hold up well to a light sprinkle, but in order to ensure the longevity of your hat it is important to try and keep it dry. In the event you get caught in a downpour, the best place for a flat brim to dry is on a flat surface, the best place for a curved brim to dry is on your head.

BRIM WARPING

Even when you’re being as careful as humanly possible, the brim will always take the brunt of the beating. Find your’s warping a bit? If your hat has a straight brim all around then you can maintain it at home! Take a hot iron to the brim with a little bit of steam, being careful not to overheat the hat band or interior sweatband. Best to use a cloth in between the iron and the felt to help prevent any damage. Let it dry flat on a table top and “Voila!”. If your brim is not straight and has a purposeful shape or curve to it then feel free to contact me for touch ups.

STORAGE

All flat-brimmed hats are best stored either laying flat or hanging on the wall. A hat with any kind of brim shape is best stored upside down on the crown with the brim in the air to help maintain the shape. Do not leave your hat in a hot car. If you find dust or lint on your hat, use tape wrapped around your hand with the sticky-side facing out to blot your hat.
